Regular garden maintenance from Gemzas

Regular maintenance means the garden never gets away from you. On a typical visit we cut and edge the lawn, trim hedges and shrubs where needed, weed the borders, tidy paths and patios, and take care of whatever the season calls for. Some customers have us every week; others prefer a monthly visit to stay on top of things.

Through the year

In spring the focus is on the first cuts, tidying borders and getting beds ready for planting. Summer is mostly mowing, hedge trimming and keeping weeds down. In autumn we clear leaves, cut back spent growth and leave the garden neat for winter, and the quieter months are a good time for pruning and structural jobs.

Getting a price

The cost depends on the size of the garden, how often you want us, how much hedge and border there is, and how easy it is to get equipment in. Send a few photos and tell us what you would like done on each visit, and we will suggest a frequency that keeps it looking right. If the garden is overgrown now, a one-off garden clearance first makes regular visits much easier to keep on top of.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often should my garden be maintained?
Through the growing season most gardens need a visit every week or two to keep the lawn and hedges in shape. Smaller or low-maintenance gardens can manage with a monthly visit.
What is included in a maintenance visit?
Whatever the garden needs at that point in the year: usually mowing and edging, weeding, hedge and shrub trimming and a tidy of paths. We agree the list with you at the start so you know what to expect.
Can you add one-off jobs to regular visits?
Yes. If you want new turf laid, a border replanted or a patio cleaned, tell us and we will price it separately.
